Visiting Tarawa, Kiribati's most important city

Posted 1 year ago by avatar marcel in response to avatar egzon's question: what is it like to live in Tarawa? (give a different answer) .

Tarawa is not really a town in the usual meaning of the word, but a small group of islands surrounded by a coral atoll. It's mostly accessible by boat. The road to the international airport of Bonriki is also accessible by boat. If you want to visit more "traditional" sights, like a library or the Parliament building, you'll have to sail all the way to Bairiki Island.
